The music from "The Last Unicorn".
ILU, America.
(The band, not the country.)
Also, I'm spending tomorrow doing that welding and re-packaging thing at my dad's warehouse.
I wanna complain, but money = DO WANT, so I won't.
I'm hoping to devote Wednesday to art. That'd rock. After I'm done with gift art and commissions (BTW I GOT COMMISSIONED OMG), I really wanna do some original art. I think that all this fanart I've been doing is beginning to rot my creativity. I have nothing against fanart, btw. I love it like a fat kid loves Taco Bell. However, it's not good of me as an artist to neglect my own ideas in favor of fandom.
God damn it, Kartoon Kween! Live up to your username already!

Why did deviantART suddenly give us the ability to categorize deviants in folders? Not only can one do that with their own deviations, but they can categorize their favorites, as well! I spent the entire day sifting through 50 pages of favorites and assigning them to appropriate folders!
Once I started, I couldn't stop. D:
OH.
But I did do something useful today, other than going to class.
I applied for a job! Or rather, I drove to the local drive cleaning place and picked up an application. Yeah... business isn't exactly booming when it comes to commissions. Well, as long as I'm making money, that's what matters. The sooner I become self-reliant, the better. All I need is a stable flow of income and MOAR driving skills.
THAT MEANS GET A JOB AND PRACTICE DRIVING SOME MORE, YOU LAZY WASTE OF SPACE!!!
Um, yeah.
I'm only 18. It's not expected that I move out of my parent's house at this time. But I want to- I yearn for independence. My parents are nice enough folks, but they want to control my life. I also know that I can't really grow up until I'm on my own... for real. Living in a dorm for a semester doesn't count.
Realistically, I'll probably living at home for another year or two. I'd like to have moved out by age 21.

My dad keeps pressuring me to get a job.
I've been searching, I really have. I can't stand the process... the fact that these employers do background checks on me give me the jibblies.
As a solution, I am going to make the first step towards self-employment.
Today, I start taking commissions FULL TIME!
DIGITAL CHARACTER DRAWINGS
$10.00
This is for a 500 x 500 pixel backgroundless PNG file featuring the character of your choice. The character will be drawn in a simplified ("chibified", if you will) style. These are great for decorating websites.
If you want the commission to include more than one character, it would cost $5.00 extra per additional character.
Don't be afraid to ask for a pet or small prop (such as a yo-yo or speech bubble). Those are free.
$20.00
This is for a more complex character drawing (JPEG file). It will have a minimal (probably abstract) background, and it will feature about two thirds of the character's body length (the lower legs may be cut off).
Prices for additional characters: $10.00 for the first additional character, and $5.00 for each one after that.
As always, it does not cost any extra to include pets or small props.
About Commissioning Me
Send me a note telling me what you want. Be as specific as you want, especially if you have something very particular in mind. I must be paid upfront before I begin a commission.
About Payment
The preferred method of payment is PayPal. I will accept having cash or a check mailed to my house, at your own risk.
Disclaimer
I reserve the right to turn down any request, for whatever reason. I also reserve the right to post finished commissions in my gallery if I so choose.
Why Commission Me?
Because you are paying for my artistic services, you can use the commission for anything you want. You can put them on your MySpace, you can alter them as you please, you can use them as your deviantART ID or Webcam, and you can even tell your friends that you drew it. It's not art theft if you paid for it! It would still be dishonest, of course, and it's not my fault if you feel guilty later.

I don't want this to be a mere "side project". I want this to become my full time job, for the time being. My goal is to make about $100 a week, give or take. Help a college student pay off her student loans!

Last September, an all Avatar the Last Airbender edition of Nick Magazine hit the shelves.
However, because I was so wrapped up in college, I didn't even hear about it until after they were out of print.
SO I BOUGHT ONE ON EBAY JUST NOW! 8D
They didn't have a "buy now" option, so I had to engage in a bidding war with two other fans. However, I was dedicated. I made the Ebay page my home page. I kept a constant eye on the bidding progress, waiting until the last moment to strike.
I purchased it for 21 dollahs. I have no regrets.

I did one of those surveys on learninpjs.com. They match people up with online colleges, apparently. Anyway, I did he survey, and less than 10 seconds later I got a call from one of the colleges that it matched me with!
I think that an online college is a good idea for me... because I'm online all the time anyway. The thought of not being late for class is also very appealing to me. I know that I work very efficiently on a computer, and I am an extremely fast typist.
What I'm looking for is an Associate Degree in Graphic Design. I may go for something more prestigious from there. I'd definitely want to take art classes.
I'll definitely be applying for a job. If I'll be studying at home, I'll need another excuse to get out of the house. I think it's healthy to have human interaction, other than with family members or people online.
I already applied to Hastings, but I haven't heard from them. I think it's safe to say I didn't get the job. XD I do not want to work at the cinema again, but I will as a last resort.

As we look back on the past year, it's good to list our accomplishments so that we don't feel like total bums.
Here's my list, in chronological order:
1) I had a small role in my high school's musical production.
2) I converted to Christianity.
3) I directed a one act play for my drama class, and the play was successful.
4) I was inducted into the Thespian Society.
5) I graduated from High School.
6) I traveled to New York and saw several shows on Broadway.
7) I came to terms with my identity as a gay man in a lesbian's body.
8) I celebrated my 18th birthday by getting my first job.
9) I saw an R rated movie, in a cinema, by myself for the first time.
10) I read the last Harry Potter book without getting spoiled.
11) I got my earlobes double pierced.
12) I got accepted into a prestigious university, after which deciding that I would feel more at home at a community college.
13) I found true love (and lost it).
14) I got my 10,000th pageview on deviantART.
15) I completed my first commission and made twenty dollars.
There. Fifteen accomplishments. Next year, I resolve to have sixteen accomplishments.
I'm going to celebrate New Year's Eve by wishing I had booze in the house. :(

I had a wonderful time tonight. My IRL best friend took me to the zoo, and then to dinner.
The French Onion soup at the Outback Steak House is amazing, by the way.
I bought this really cool magnifying glass at the zoo's gift shop. It has a carved yellow jade handle, and it looks very oriental and scholarly. I decided that that is going to be my uncle's Christmas present.
I'm so glad that I found that magnifying glass, because my uncle was the last person I needed to buy a gift for. Now I'm all done with my Christmas shopping!
And now, I'm completely broke. Well, I do have a Canadian twenty dollar bill, but I'm reluctant to exchange it for American currency because the Canadian bill looks so pretty. ):
If you want to commission me, gimme a holla! I want to start on commissions again after Christmas. I'll probably do simple ones: one or two characters, with no background. I haven't decided on prices yet. I want to keep them low, but I would also like to make some sort of profit so that I can have money in my wallet again.
Tomorrow, I'm going to spend they day drawing for leisure. I also have to do penance for CAPSLOCK_ATLA because I typed in lowercase like a moron. Well, drawing naked Iroh isn't such a bad punishment...
After the I saw "Sokka's Master", I began fantasizing about Iroh. I am not ashamed in the least.

I have the tendency to go completely overboard when I do Christmas Shopping. This problem magnifies itself if I actually have money to spend.
I bought each of my cousins a jar of Play-Doh. They are adult cousins.
I also spent quite a bit at the Homestar Store. I only bought two things: a Kick the Cheat doll (for my youngest sister), and the series 1 poster (for ME). I think that my sister will get a real kick out of her Christmas present this year.
I couldn't resist buying myself that poster. It's on clearance, which means that TBC might discontinue it! Plus it's so big and colorful. My walls are so bare, and they need some love.
I feel that with all the rule 34 I'll eventually draw, I owe it to TBC to buy their merchandise.
I can't wait to wrap all the gifts I bought!

You know what sucks about college?
Over-priced text books.
I bought some really expensive French text books at the beginning of the semester, and then ended up dropping my French class before I even used them. I just sold them back for about $30 each.
*Grumbles*
On the bright side, I ended up buying a novel. Unfortunately, it's in paper back (they were all out of the hardback editions). It's going to be my mother's Christmas present unless if I find something better to get for her... I think that hardback books make nicer gifts.
I can't wait for Christmas break. Namely, I can't wait to get some Christmas shopping out of the way. I love the challenge of finding the prefect gift for everybody, and this year, I actually have some money to spend.
Speaking of money, I wonder if text books are less expensive at community colleges?
That would be rad.
